Tenants care about their ‘security’ over who owns it

Recent research shows that tenants don’t care who their landlord is – as long as the house and their contract remain the same if the property is sold.

A recent study conducted by an online property marketplace has highlighted the need for reform over the way rental properties are bought and sold. UK renters do not prioritise their relationship with their current landlord, what they really want is to be able to stay in the property even if the property sells.

The study found that:

  • – 78% of tenants want the security of renting a property that lets them remain in their home even if the landlord sells
  • – 79% think it’s ridiculous for a landlord to evict a tenant simply for the new landlord to replace them
  • – 70% of tenants don’t care who their landlord is – as long as the house and their contract remain the same if the property is sold
